The sketchbook grew up and got an API key.

Closest to the current terrible.llc identity: warm paper, felt-tip annotations, wobbly frames, and orderly product UI underneath.

Infrastructure for optimists with backups

Email infrastructure.No motivational posters.

Inboxes and an API for products that need email to work, not become a lifestyle.

No sales call. No “book a demo.” No adult supervision.

01

Useful on purpose.

The boring primitives are excellent. The interface is allowed to have a pulse.

02

Errors with nouns.

Plain language, clear recovery, and no haunted little red triangle by itself.

03

Undo is a feature.

Reversible actions, visible history, and receipts for the decisions you made at 2am.

Try the other product palettes. The layout language stays put; the product identity changes through one accent, icon shorthand, and nouns—not a new design system every time.

THE PART THAT SHOULD SURVIVE THE VOTING

One family. Different weird children.

  1. 01
    Handmade is punctuation.

Sketchy elements emphasize, explain, and celebrate. They do not wobble every input you need to use fifty times.

  2. 02
    Product color is a variable.

Mail gets hot pink, Packages gets acid green, Deploy gets safety orange. Structure and behavior remain shared.

  3. 03
The joke never blocks the job.

Human copy can be dry and odd, but labels stay literal, errors stay actionable, and destructive actions stay extremely unfunny.

  4. 04
    Clean does not mean sterile.

Rhythm, hierarchy, and accessibility do the serious work. Texture, marks, and voice make it recognizably terrible.
